Loud Neighbors

So I like to play music but I live in apartment so I have respect for those who live around me. Perhaps they don't want to hear my music. Well the last two hours I have had to hear the base of my neighbor's music. These aren't young kids either, I would say maybe 50s. I want to complain, but I also feel like it won't matter. Now it is to the point of shaking my walls....have you ever had this issue?
